Time to go puddle jumping! Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet get ready for rain in their sensible boots

It takes more than a little rain to ruin Jennifer Garner's mood.
The Alias star was in a happy mood as she spent time with her daughter Violet on Thursday.
While Jennifer was fashionable chic in grey suede boots, her seven-year-old romped around in a pair of bright pink Wellingtons.

Jennifer picked Violet up from school and then the pair headed over to the Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles to visit the Diesel bookstore.
It was a success, as mother and daughter were later seen walking back to the car with several bags of purchases.
Jennifer matched her cosy boots with skinny black jeans, a white blouse and striped cardigan, and the white fringed scarf she wore was a nice touch.

The 40-year-old actress covered her eyes with dark sunglasses, but couldn't help smiling at her little girl who was so happy with her new book, Time Big Book of What?
Violet looked too cute in her pink dress with the wide white collar and a matching pink cardigan.
In fact the whole ensemble looked marvelous with her rubber rain boots.

Jennifer seemed to be enjoying more quality time with Violet, leaving husband Ben Affleck no doubt in charge of Seraphina, four, and baby Samuel, 11 months.
Now that she has three children, the busy working mother sometimes gets a little confused.
'I don’t know if it’s because he’s a boy. I don’t know if it’s because he’s my third and I forget that I have him,' she confessed to Ellen DeGeneres about her son Samuel.

Lose something? Jennifer looked a little lost at one point in the parking lot, as if trying to remember where she'd parked the car

'You’re just dealing with two and then you think, "I swear I put a baby down somewhere." And you kind of walk through the house, "There you are!" and he’s just happy as can be.'
That's probably why Jennifer is so glad to have a stable guy like Ben around - and he's great with the girls too.
'He’s all about [tea parties,' Jennifer added. 'He can do it without using any energy at all. 
'He can sit there and be almost asleep and they think they’re having an incredible game with him. It’s skill.'
